Ella Mae Latiolais

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Ella Mae Latiolais, 89, who passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 2:30 pm on Thursday. Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Ella Mae was loved by everyone she met. She loved visits from family and friends and giving hugs and kisses to everyone, especially children. As a pastime she enjoyed watching T.V., particularly Wheel of Fortune and cartoons, and playing with her deck of cards. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her loving and devoted guardian, Patsy Blanchard and husband, Marshall of Catahoula; sister-in-law, Barbara Latiolais; and her caregivers, Annette Huval, Paula Doucet, and Rena Bonin, all of Catahoula. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angest and Felicia Courville Latiolais; brothers, Chester J. Latiolais and Clarence Latiolais, sisters, Emma Bourque, Pauline Guidry, Elizabeth Champagne; and brothers-in-law, Linden Champagne, Sr., Percy Bourque, and Louis Guidry. Pallbearers will be Aaron Latiolais, Dwayne Latiolais, Clayton Latiolais, Leonard Latiolais, Linden Champagne, Jr., Colby Bourque, and Bart Blanchard.
