Ellen Stelly Guidry, beloved mother, devoted wife, cherished sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully. Ellen dedicated her life to nurturing others, both in her career as a teacher and in her family. She took pride in her role as a para-professional for preschool children, where she loved sharing their stories and experiences, always highlighting the unique personalities of her students.
As a passionate supporter of the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and the Cecilia Bulldogs, Ellen approached life with the same fervor she brought to her favorite football teams. She found joy in her hobbies, whether tending to her garden, preparing lovingly made meals for her family, or savoring her favorite films, such as "Titanic" and "Gone with the Wind." Ellen's warm spirit and lively stories enriched the lives of many, and she forged deep connections with her dear friends, who will miss her greatly.
A pillar of strength and guidance, Ellen was affectionately known as the "rock of the family." Her unwavering love and support served as the foundation for her children.
Ellen's commitment to her faith was evident through her years as Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, where she nurtured the spiritual growth of many in her community. She will be remembered as a beacon of kindness, compassion, and devotion.
As we reflect on Ellen's life, we embrace the lessons she taught us through her unwavering love, fierce spirit, and boundless generosity. She will forever remain in our hearts.
