Elnora “Sue” Leon was born on March 5, 1934 to Pascal and Bertha LeBlanc Narcisse. Elnora fondly referred to by most as, “Ms. Sue”, was known for her fantastic cooking, wise counsel, and youthful spirit.

Elnora was a very devoted Catholic and loved the Lord. Ms. Sue watched Mass and prayed the Rosary three times daily as an active supporter of EWTN and the St. Jude Foundation.  Susie was a lifelong parishioner of  Notre Dame Catholic Church.  She was a member of the rosary group and adoration member at St. Louis Catholic Church in Parks, Louisiana, for decades.  In her early years, she was a domestic worker for Dr. Corne and his family for 30 years. She was the first cafeteria director with the Head Start Program at Mallalieu Methodist Church. She retired from Martin Mills after 20 years. Later she opened and ran Sue's Kitchen Restaurant with support from family and her sister, Enola Mitchell, in the late 80’s on Main Street.

As an active senior, Sue worked as a dossier at Maison du Tours and coordinated meal deliveries for the Council on Aging.  Elnora was a storyteller who recognized the beauty and best in everyone.

Ms. Leon was surrounded by her children and left this earth to return to her Heavenly Father on February 24, 2023, at 12:15 am.  Her final resting place will be at St. Michael's Mausoleum on Cemetery Road in St. Martinville, Louisiana.

The family would like to especially thank her neighbors - Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lee, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Alan Simon, and James "Fry" Green for helping with her daily life. We thank her Bingo Family for keeping her good company. And lastly, Alzena Skipper Cullivan, we thank you for coordinating her care and accompanying her to medical appointments in our absence.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Phillips (Donna) and Andrew Phillips (Wanda); daughters, Gloria Kindrick (Nicholas) and Brenda Menard (Willis); bonus children, Shirley Williams (Russell), Mary Alice Leon, and Patrick Leon, Jr. (Rachel); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
