Elrod Thomassee

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of Elrod J. Thomassee, 76, who passed away on April 16, 2025 at Carpenter House.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service.

A rosary will be prayed by Brad Thomassee at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.

Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Michelle Landry and Clint Guidry. Gift bearers will be Abigale Guidry and Shelly Petry.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A dedicated cook, Elrod spent many years working on dredge boats, where he was known for his culinary skills and his passion for creating delicious meals. His love for cooking was matched only by his appreciation for music and the joy he found in spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Greg) Guidry; grandchild, Abigale Guidry; brothers, Brad Thomassee and Malcolm Thomassee; sisters, Claire (Michael) Landry, Sandra (Andy) Guidry and Sarah (Alvin) Seneca.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela LeBlanc Thomassee; parents, Ernest and Thelma Brasseaux Thomassee; daughter, Christine Thomassee; father and mother-in-law Antoine Kaiser and Lydia G. LeBlanc; sister-in-law Peggy (Roy) Guidry; and his nephew Troy Seneca.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Vital Care Home Health (Jessica and Kathy), ICU Staff at Oschner Lafayette General Hospital, Dr. Thad Bourque and The Carpenter House.
