Elvin Joubert

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Elvin Louis Joubert, 84, who died Monday, July 8, 2013, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A native of Washington, Mr. Joubert was born on June 21, 1929 to Melancon and Vivian Lefleur Joubert. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping family and friends remodel their home. He is survived by his wife, Laura Dugas Joubert of New Iberia; daughters, Glenda Stansbury of New Iberia, Debbie Steele and husband Charles of New Iberia; sons, Roger Joubert and wife Jeanne of Houston, Carl Joubert and wife Patricia of San Antonio; brothers, Nolan Joubert and wife Ann Ella of Church Point, Roland Joubert and wife Judith of Ville Platte; Alec James Joubert and wife Rachel of Washington; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Ann Joubert; grandson, Johnny Ray Stansbury, Jr.; sister, Hilda Dardeau; brothers, Richard Joubert, John Joubert, Rodney Joubert; wifes parents, Alvarest and Carmelite Robin Dugas; and a son-in-law, Johnny Ray Stansbury, Sr.Pallbearers will be Carl Joubert, Roger Joubert, Chad Stansbury, David Boudreaux, Jerome LeBlanc, Adam Joubert, Derek Trosclair, and Brett Brignac.Honorary pallbearers include Nolan Joubert, Roland Joubert, Alec James Joubert, Charles Steele, Danny Joubert, and Devlin Joubert. ;Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
