Emile Joseph Garrett

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 9, 2009, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Emile Joseph Garrett, 71, who passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Garrett was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he also served as an Usher. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ella H. Garrett, of St. Martinville; his daughter, Miriam D. Titus and her husband, Dr. Robert Titus, of Spring, TX; one brother, Anatole J. Garrett, Jr., of Lafayette; three sisters, Freda Harrison, of St. Martinville, Betty J. Garrett, of Broussard, and Aline M. Garrett, of Youngsville; and three grandchildren, Kelsey Titus, Xavier Titus, and John Ross Titus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anatole J. Garrett, Sr. and Aline Mitchell Garrett; and a brother, Milton Garrett. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. on Friday morning. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
