Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 9, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Emilie Guidry LeBlanc, 81, who passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at her residence. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Paul LaFleur will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Myia Johnson and Bess Guidry. Her daughters will serve as Gift Bearers. Emilie was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. A devout Catholic, she prayed the Rosary daily, offering her prayers for the special intentions of those in need. "Nunoon" as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and looked forward to preparing meals for the many family gatherings held throughout the year. Emilie loved to sew and do embroidery, she also enjoyed reading and watching sports, especially baseball. To all those unfortunate events that occurred, she was always known to say her famous little quote "Cher bon Dieu." ; Emilie treasured the times spent with her family and many friends and will be sadly missed by them all. Survivors include her husband, Shelton LeBlanc, of Breaux Bridge; four sons, James "Butch" LeBlanc and his wife, Margie, of Breaux Bridge, John Allen LeBlanc and his wife, Sue, of Krotz Springs, Paul Harris LeBlanc and his wife, Windy, and Jeffery Lynn LeBlanc and his wife, Melanie, all of Breaux Bridge; four daughters, Katherine "Kat" Caillier and her husband, Ralph, Mary Hebert and her husband, Mike, Julie Guidry and Mike, and Jennifer Langlinais and her husband, Teddy, all of Breaux Bridge; her niece, Linda Gallet, of Breaux Bridge; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Guidry and Amanda Landry Champagne; her step father, John Champagne; a sister, Genevieve G. LeBlanc; an infant granddaughter; her nephew, Barry Lee LeBlanc; and a step grandson, Mack Kemp, III. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Chad Hebert, Chase Hebert, Derek Hebert, Blake LeBlanc, Wil Langlinais, Karl LeBlanc, Troy Johnson, and Shane Caillier. The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Gloria Guttry, for the wonderful care given to her. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
