Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Emily Marie Johnson , 73, who passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday by the St. Louis Rosary Group.
Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Emily was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church in Parks. She was also a member of the St. Louis Rosary Group. Emily didn't go a day without praying the Rosary. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and going to the casino. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Marie Johnson; son, Milton Anthony Johnson; brothers, Howard Morris, Charles Morris and Paul Morris; sister, Rita (Joseph) Brown; grandchildren, Audria Renee' Johnson, Damien Joseph Johnson, Terry Joseph Steward, Jr., Eneus Michael Payne, Myeisha Leon, Maliza Demouchet, Jawselen Johnson and Daniya Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; and godchildren, Denise Brown and Ryan Charles.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Johnson; parents, Albert Morris, Sr. and Gussie Charles Morris; sister, Corrine Marie Morris; and brothers, Horace Morris, Sr. and Albert Morris, Jr.
Pallbearers will be William Lewis, Jamar Johnson, Travis Lewis, Joseph Brown, III, Albert Morris and Timothy Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Morris, Charles Morris, Paul Morris, Milton Anthony Johnson, Damien Joseph Johnson, Terry Joseph Steward Jr., Eneus Michael Payne, Howard Ledet, Robert James Lee, Martin Lee, Jr., Harris Mouton, Lester Mouton, Henry Charles, Eugene Charles, Ryan Charles and Michael Charles.
