Emma Lou Bourque

VIEW ; VIDEO TRIBUTE Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Emma Lou Latiolais Bourque, 86, who passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Rev. Fr. Donald Pelous, pastor of St. Rita Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral mass. Altar Servers will be Morgan Laviolette and Jonathan Lavergne. Readers will be Carey Lavergne and Felicia Kerne. Gift Bearers will be Cathryn Henry, Ana Alexandrescu and Emily Lavergne. Emma was an avid gardener. She was a CCD co-organizer, a member of the Home Demonstration, St. Ritas Altar Society and choir. She was a co-founder of Mardi Gras Carnival in Catahoula. Emma was the first teller at St. Martin Bank, Catahoula Branch and a tour guide at Longfellow Evangeline State Park. She was an Avon Representative and loved people. Survivors include her son, Warren Johnny Bourque and his wife, Maxine of St. Martinville; her daughter, Patsy Blanchard and her husband, Marshall of Catahoula; her brother, Chester Latiolais of Catahoula; her sisters, Elise Champagne of Cypress Island and Ella Latiolais of St. Martinville; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Bourque, her parents, Angest and Felicia Courville Latiolais and her sister, Polly Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 5:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Bart Blanchard, Colby Bourque, Jake Bourque, Jonathan Bourque, Joseph Bourque and Jordan Laviolette. Honorary pallbearers will be Cade Henry, Alec Laviolette and Josh Henry. Pellerin Funeral Home, 337.332.2111, is in charge of arrangements.
