Emma Lou Serrette

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 1, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Emma Lou Serrette, 87, who passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Deacon Shawn Gautreaux. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Emma Lou was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were her whole world. She was an amazing homemaker and above all, loved spending time with her family. Emma Lou will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Reynold Serrette (Mary), Gary Serrette (Karen), Barry Serrette (Beth Bullock) and David Serrette (Tessie); brother, Harris (Doris) Champagne; sisters, Mazel Dwyer and Elise Verrett; grandchildren, Renee Serrette, Josh Serrette (Monique), Jessica Serrette Wilson and Tara Serrette; great-grandchildren, Jase Serrette, Ezra Luben, Joni Serrette, Maria Wilson and Talon Wilson. She was preceded in death by her father, Oleus Champagne, Sr.; mother, Elise Gauthier Champagne; brothers, Howard Champagne, Earl Champagne, Harold Champagne, Linden Champagne, Sr., Edward Champagne and Oleus Champagne, Jr.; and sisters, Maudry Landry and Verna Guidry; and special friend, Lonnie B. Foster. Pallbearers will be David Serrette, Reynold Serrette, Gary Serrette, Barry Serrette, Josh Serrette and Jase Serrette. Honorary pallbearer will be Ezra Luben.
