Enola Melancon

Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Friday, November 6, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, for Enola Champagne Melancon, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in St. Martinville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Father Bryce Sibley will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Sara-Jean Breaux and Jackie Benoit. Gift Bearers will be Victoria Pellegran and Maddie Breaux. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Melancon was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and enjoyed participating in all church events; such as counting money, working the church fairs, attending daily Mass, and even going to an Astros game with Father Sibley. She was known to many as a happy-go-lucky person and went along with everything. She loved playing Bingo and Pokeno, cooking, especially her cabbage rolls, and going to the casino. The joy of her life was spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that she loved so dearly. She is survived by son, Jerry Champagne and wife Cheryle of St. Martinville; step son, Malcom Melancon of Breaux Bridge; step daughter, Ronnie Garritt and husband Rickie of Breaux Bridge; 4 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; and 6 step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Whitney Melancon; her parents, Joseph and Armide Courville Champagne; brothers, Arista and Antoine Champagne; sisters, Maria Frederick, Martha Theriot, and Esther Douet; and a step great granddaughter, Ashley Hebert. Pallbearers will be Billy Pellegran, Ronnie Rogers, Baylon Pellegran, Mitchel Melancon, Reed Hebert, and Daniel Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Breaux, Matt Breaux, and Rickie Garritt.
