Ernest Paul Couret, Jr., 70, of Butte La Rose passed away on Saturday, January 5th, at his home after an illness. He was recognized as a Master Fisherman, Hunter and Story Teller in the Atchafalaya Basin. He was the Top-Rated Swamp Tour Guide in Louisiana. He was also honored by Governor Jindal for his exceptional Military career, spanning three tours in Vietnam as a U.S. Special Forces Green Beret.
He will be missed by his community, friends, and family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of funeral service on Thursday.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 am on Thursday.
Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at a later date.
He leaves behind his Beloved Companion, Twana Casey of Butte La Rose; his brothers, Wendal Couret and wife Dora, and William Couret; nephews, Todd and Darren Champagne; nieces, Niki McWilliams and Whitney Champagne; and great niece, Makenzi McWilliams.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest P Couret, Sr.; mother, Sable Mire Couret; and his sister, Madeline Couret.
