Ernest John Duplantis

Delcambre - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre for Ernest John Duplantis, 67, who passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Rev. Michael Richard will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 9:15 am. A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Duplantis was born on February 5, 1950 in Abbeville to the late Ledier and Adella Touchet Duplantis. He was employed with the City of New Iberia, and had previously worked at Live Oak Gardens, and G & M Rentals. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Mr. Duplantis loved fishing, cooking, cutting grass, growing vegetable gardens, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Romero Duplantis of New Iberia; sons, Kendall John Duplantis and wife Crystal of Abbeville, Kimball John Duplantis and wife Mindy of New Iberia; daughter, Joni Lynn Duplantis of New Iberia; grandchildren, Erica, Emma, Alix; brothers, Jimmy Duplantis of Abbeville, Huey Duplantis and wife Dolores of New Iberia, Earl Duplantis and wife Sandy of Delcambre, Michael Duplantis of New Iberia, Marshall Duplantis and wife Tyna of New Iberia; sisters, Patsy Duplantis of New Iberia, Nancy Bourque of Delcambre, Audrey Duplantis of Abbeville, Bonnie Duplantis of Delcambre, LA, Gloria Duplantis of Delcambre. Pallbearers will be Kendall Duplantis, Kimball Duplantis, Jim Duplantis, Logan Duplantis, Wesley Medina, and Marshall Duplantis.
