Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Esther Dore Cormier, 91, who passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. Paul LaFleur, pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officiate the Funeral Mass.
Mrs. Cormier was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, Widows Club, and the Rosary Group. ?She enjoyed playing pokeno and loved to sew, in fact, making baptismal gowns, baby clothes, and heirloom dresses, were her specialties.
She is survived by her son, Lynn Cormier, and wife, Lu Lu, of Lafayette; her daughters, Earline Allemand and husband, Ames ""T-Boy"", of Cut Off, and Hazel Theriot and husband, Roy, of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, William Dore and Sylvain Dore, Jr., both of Parks; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy J. Cormier; her parents, Emilie G. and Sylvain Dore, Sr.; one son, Earl Cormier; two sisters, Marie Dore Hebert and Maydel Dore Cormier; one brother, Whitney Dore; and two grandsons, Eddie James Allemand and Riley Allemand.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 300, Lafayette, LA 70503.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the wonderful care they provided to her during her illness.
