Esther Sonnier Picard

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Esther Sonnier Picard, 85, who passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Tina Daspard. Gift bearers will be Faith Moore and Douglas Lopez. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Esther was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Esther will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Harold Picard; daughters, Barbara Picard, Betty Mouton and husband Glenn, Patricia Treadway and husband Tony, Melissa Galloway and husband Danny, Diane Grucaz and husband Larry, Tina Gaspard and husband James, and Tammy Lopez and husband Jimmie; brother, Rodney Sonnier; sister, Vernice Dugas and husband Roy; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Elmire Hebert Sonnier; and her baby brother, Dudley Sonnier. Pallbearers will be Glenn Mouton, Tony Treadway, Danny Galloway, Larry Grucza, James Gaspard, and Jimmie Lopez.
