Ethel Hypolite Wiltz

June 12, 1925 — March 20, 2009

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Ethel Hypolite Wiltz, 83, who passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Father Stephen Ugwu will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Hilda Wiltz and Ruby Celestine. Gift bearers are Marlon Wiltz, Trelon Wiltz and Tayae Wiltz. Mrs. Wiltz was a parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks where she was a member of the Altar Society, St. Paul Society, and the Rosary Group of Parks. A devout Catholic, Ethel enjoyed praying the rosary, often offering her prayers for the ;special intentions ;of those in need. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, tending to her flowerbeds, and giving advice to her children. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Filer Wiltz, of Parks; one sister, Andrella Thomas and her husband, Isaac, of Breaux Bridge; and four grandchildren, Shallana Crawford, Sherry Wiltz, Marlon Wiltz and Jalon Wiltz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Filer and Edna Ledet Hypolite; her husband, Phillip Patrick Wiltz, Sr.; a son, Phillip Patrick Wiltz, Jr.; one brother, Arthur Hypolite; and one sister, Elevera Thibodeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Pallbearers will be Everette Thomas, Dexter Thomas, Cornelius Hypolite, Stephen Hypolite, Jerome Thomas, and David Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Thomas, Phillip Lewis, Howard Wiltz, David Wiltz, Donald Locuste, Randy Crawford, Joseph Junius Wiltz, Allison Tom, and Craig White. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
