Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Etley ""Buck"" Joseph Collette, 72, who passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at his residence. Fr. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the funeral service. Mr. Collette loved spending time with his grand-dog, Buster, purchasing lottery tickets and watching the weather report. ?He looked forward to and enjoyed drinking coffee with his siblings in the morning. Survivors include his wife, Rose Hayes Collette, of Breaux Bridge; four daughters, Vickie Collette Huval and her husband, Michael, of Parks, Marcy Collette Dauphine and her husband, Nicky, of Nina, Tammy Collette Scrantz and her husband, Buddy, of Grand Anse, and Jamie Collette Armentor and her husband, Timothy, of Youngsville; one brother, Linton Collette, of Henderson; two sisters, Alice Allemond and Rose Allemond, both of Breaux Bridge; 11 grandchildren, Brooke Huval, Casey D. Allen, Ashley Dauphine, Cody Wyatt, Declan Wyatt, Saxon Wyatt, Jasmin Wyatt, Grace Wyatt, Hailey Scrantz, Abbey Scrantz, and Madison Scrantz; a step grandson, Ross Armentor; and two great grandchildren, BreeAnna Scrantz and Emmie Claire Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Cecilia Collette; a daughter, Iris C. Wyatt; two brothers, Ames and Newton Collette; and a sister, Dorothy Menard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Michael Huval, Nicky Dauphine, Buddy Scrantz, Timothy Armentor, Sherbin Collette, and Kim Allemond. Honorary pallbearer will be Reid Collette. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Cain and his staff, the 8th floor Oncology staff at Lafayette General Medical Center, and to his caregiver, Ms. Francine Melancon Allemond, for the wonderful care and attention given to him.
