Eugenie "Genie" Patin

Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Eugenie "Genie" Patin, 77, who passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm on Thursday. Pastor Sherman Soileau will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. “Genie” was the owner of the Basin Crawfish and Crawfish Distributors, Inc. and was a member of the Crawfish Peelers Association. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, baking, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Scottie Patin of Cecilia; two grandchildren, Lacy Patin of Cecilia and Alexis Magee (Adam) of Memphis, TN; great grandchildren, Piper and Brentley Magee; three sisters, Ella Goulas (Ronald) of Cecilia, Penny Guidry of Breaux Bridge, and Sylvia Charpentier of New Iberia; two sisters-in-law, Karleen Berard of Cecilia and Jackie Berard of Cecilia; and brother, Rex Berard (Belinda) of Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Norton Patin; parents, William and Lucille Scrantz Berard; and two brothers, William “Jim” Berard and Al “Pyook” Berard. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hayes, Adam Magee, Bryce David, Chad Berard, Blake Thibodeaux, and Joshua Perello. Honorary pallbearer will be Brentley Magee.
