Eula Mae Dore

New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Eula Mae Dore, 78, who passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Avery Island. ; Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. ; Rev. Paul Neel will officiate the service. ; A native of Youngsville, Mrs. Dore was a longtime resident of Avery Island. She retired from the McIlhenny Company after 42 years of service, but never really stopped working. She continued her love of cooking for the McIlhenny Family for many years after. Mrs. Dore was the author of "Eula Mae's Cajun Kitchen Cookbook". A member of the First Assembly of God Church in New Iberia, she had a love of life and people, always putting her family first. She was known to be the "treasurer of Avery Island" and was everyone's granny. ; Survivors include her daughter, Susan Gachassin and husband Todd of New Iberia; brother, Wilfred Touchet and wife Lelies of Jefferson Island; grandchildren, Tyler Gachassin and Kip White and wife Thea all of New Iberia; great granddaughter, Riley Anne White of New Iberia; step great granddaughter, Cameron Redmon of New Iberia. ; She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Dore; son, Sanford Paul Dore; parents, Semar and Estella Dore Touchet; brother, Euel Touchet; sister, Earline T. Gary; half sisters, Uline T. Dore, Una T. Gary, and Odile T. Dore. ; Pallbearers include Kip White, Tyler Gachassin, Todd Gachassin, Wilfred Touchet, Kevin Horton, and Rickey Redmon. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia, and also Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. ; In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA. 70503.
