;Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Eula Hollier Romero, 86, who died Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Lafayette. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. A native and resident of Coteau, Mrs.Eula was born on December 26, 1924. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, canning, and playing 'Bou-ree' with her friends. She is survived by her son, Wayne Romero and wife Dorothy LeBlanc Romero of Coteau; daughter, Mavis Bull and husband Jeffrey of Lafayette; sisters, Melva Baker of Mandeville, Earline Jenney and husband Jim; grandchildren, Curtis Romero and wife Connie, Lana Hill and husband Leroy Hill, Jr., Kellie Bull, Jenna Bull; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Romero, Sarah Romero, Giles Hill, Cameron Hill, Brooke Hill; step grandchildren, Roberto Gonzales, Jr., and Kit Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robley Romero; parents, Edier and Antonia Romero Hollier; sisters, Amy Boutte, Edia Romero, Nedia Romero, Una Sherman; brothers, Nedier Hollier, and Cleaus Hollier. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Heart Hospital of Lafayette, and to Concepts of Care for their extraordinary care and compassion.
