Eunice Huval Bernard

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, in Breaux Bridge for Eunice Huval Bernard, 95, who died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church, will conduct the services. The readers will be Andi Fontenot Torres and Elizabeth Simon Dejean. Gift bearers will be Karen Simon Durio and Kelly Zaunbrecher. Eunice was a devoted wife and homemaker. She especially enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening. Having no children of her own, she was devoted to her nieces and nephews and their children. Survivors include her nieces, Dixie Poche, Ginger Huval, Leesha Huval Chassion, Maxine Huval, Phyllis Huval Savoy, and Renella Guidry Simon; and her nephews, Benny Fontenot, Johnny Fontenot, George Roy Guidry, Clint Huval, Tommy Huval, and Richard Huval. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thire Alphance "Pete" Bernard; her parents, George and Josephine Guidry Huval; two sisters, Kate Huval Fontenot and Bertha Huval Guidry; two brothers, Gus and Jess Huval; two nieces, Jacqueline Guidry Barras and Josie Huval Delcambre; and a great nephew, Tony Barras. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Bob McDonner at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Pallbearers will be Johnny Fontenot, Benny Fontenot, David Fontenot, Edward Jude Barras, Ricky Torres and Carl Simon. Honorary pallbearer will be George Roy Guidry. The family would like to extend special thanks to her devoted friend and caregiver, Joyce Delahoussaye, Dr. Warren Degatur, and the staff at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
