Interment will follow at St.Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. In her 93 years on earth, Eursule, 'Mom-Mom', 'Maw-Maw' or 'Taunte Sule' as she was affectionately known, touched many lives in a positive way. Mom-Mom or Maw-Maw had an enduring spirit and people enjoyed her company. Her love of nature was evident. Her yard always boasted the most beautiful blooming plants and holiday decorations, which she and Mr. Z handmade and painted. And you can be sure, Zerv had to do what she wanted when it came to her decorations because more was always better! She had decorations for each occasion and most people only knew of her as being 'the house with all the lights across from the Bank.' Passer bys always enjoyed her talent, energy and positive spirit. She was no stranger to hardship. When she was thirteen her mom died. She became the mother for her siblings: one sister and two younger brothers, a role she took very seriously and care taking came easy to her. She worked at Trappey's for many years, Pete Guidry's Seafood Plant in Catahoula and was a caregiver for many years to the Martin Guirard family and also to Della Melancon. She took these jobs very serious and was very dedicated to them and their families. She was married to Antoine for 50 years (he died one week before their 50th anniversary) - they had 12 children, 8 of whom preceded her in death, eight times she had to endure the loss of a child and yet she kept going. She loved sewing, working in her yard, cooking for her family, going camping in her pop-up camper, making coffee for her regular coffee drinkers (every day at 3:00 PM). One of the things that delighted her was the annual birthday party held in her honor. Every year even though she said she did not want this - she began preparing right after the Christmas holidays. Of course, she always prepared her favorite dishes: white beans, meatball stew, and pecan praline cake and helped with deboning of the turkeys because she was always in charge, after all - she was the Momma. She loved the attention, but most of all loved all the family and friends who attended. She prayed her rosary daily and was a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Rita's Ladies Altar Society and St. Martin Parish AARP. She was the rock and matriarch of our family. Her legacy would be that she lived life well, loved and was loved. She will be missed by all! She is survived by her son, Donald Latiolais and his wife, Marlene from Cypress Island; three daughters, Nona Hebert and her husband, Dale, Norma Reed and her husband, Russell all of Breaux Bridge, Glenda Guidry and her husband, Danny of Catahoula; her friend and companion, Zerven Lasseigne; sons-in-law, Wiley Robin, Sr. and Roland Bourque; daughters-in-law, Velma Prosper, Marion Latiolais, Dianne Latiolais; one brother, and his wife, Ranell Lee and Thelma Faucheaux; sister-in-law, Anna Mae 'NaNoon' Faucheaux; 30 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 32 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Latiolais; her sons, Antoine Jr., Bobby, Ronald, Alden 'Dago', Billy, and Al James Latiolais; her daughters, Shirley Robin and Willie Mae Bourque; her grandchildren, Roland Bourque, Jr., Jeffrey Bourque, Aldus Robin, and Billy 'Buddy' Latiolais; her great grandson, Clayton Latiolais; her sister, Ann Cormier; her brothers, Nolan, Collins, and Shelton Faucheaux; and her parents, Alfred and Ella Barras Faucheaux. Pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Troy Bourque, Craig Latiolais, Dean Robin, Richard Latiolais, Gary Latiolais, Robert Reed, Wiley Robin, Jr., Terry Robin, Jason Bourque, David Latiolais, Galen Hebert, Keith Hebert, Ryan Latiolais, Rawson Reed, and Corey Broussard (unable to be physically here). Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Debra Durham and her staff. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
