Eva Mae Denaille

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Eva Mae Guidry Denaille, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 . Father Kenneth Bienvenu will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Jordan Denaille and Bobby Poirrier. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Mrs. Denaille was a talented seamstress and had worked at Abdallas for three years in the alterations department. She volunteered her time and talents at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and rectory assisting whoever needed help and she was instrumental in redecorating the rectory, having sewn all of the drapes for the windows. She also took great pleasure in gardening. Survivors include her son, David Denaille (Chante) of St. Martinville; her daughter, Connie Poirrier (Bobby) of Maurice; one brother, Newbon Guidry (Janelle) of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Danielle Guilbeau, Chelsea Walker, Lonnie Dugas, Jordan Denaille, Brooke Denaille, and Wedge Denaille; and four great grandchildren, Constance Guilbeau, Michael Guilbeau, Cameron Guilbeau, and Julianna Dugas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theotus Denaille; two sons, Ernest Lee Dugas and Lonnie Dugas; her parents, Albert and Almire Leger Guidry; seven brothers, Hilton, Jack, Leo, Vincent, George, Ernest, and Bill Guidry; and one sister, Therese Cormier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening.
