Eva Prejean

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Eva Gonsoulin Prejean, 67, who was taken to heaven on Friday, November 25, 2011 in Broussard. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery , in Jeanerette. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM . A native and resident of Jeanerette, Eva was born on January 30, 1944 . She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, and babysitting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ovignac 'Joe' Prejean of Jeanerette; daughter, Angela Prejean Munnerlyn and husband Scotty of Jeanerette; son, Joey Prejean of Baton Rouge; her sister, Sally Sonnier and husband, Alton of Youngsville; grandchildren, Dylan Eddy, Courtney Prejean; several nieces and nephews; godchildren, Michael Prejean, Allison Sonnier Guidry, Jimmy Owens; and numerous special 'little ones' that she cared for over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Gertrude Arceneaux Borel; a sister-in-law, Mildred Prejean; and her best friend, Deborah Guilbeau. Pallbearers will be Joey Prejean, Dylan Eddy, Scotty Munnerlyn, Michael Prejean, Kade Duckworth, and Dusty Vallot.
