Eve Melancon

Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Loreauville in Loreauville for Eve Boudreaux Melancon, 76, who passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Kristi Legnon and Susan Stephenson. Gift Bearers include Talon Romero, Davin Romero, Lucas Legnon, Kash Melancon and Hayes Melancon. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 1:15 pm. A resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Melancon was born on April 2, 1942 to the late Noe and Yolande Courville Boudreaux and was a graduate of Mercy High School. She worked for the Village of Loreauville for 28 years, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include son, Harold Roy Melancon and wife Allison of Youngsville; daughters, Patty Romero and husband Kerry of Loreauville, Pamela Albert and husband Ramsey of St. Martinville; brothers, Sherman Boudreaux and wife Cheryl of Parks, Hardy Boudreaux of Breaux Bridge; sister, Ruth B. Jeter and husband Mark of Breaux Bridge; sister-in-law, Mazel Boudreaux of Parks; grandchildren, Chadd Romero, Kristi Legnon, Justin Melancon, Dyllan Landry, Ridge Albert, Lexi Beard, Saige Beard; Great Grandchildren, Talon Romero, Davin Romero, Lucas Legnon, Ridlee Melancon, Sawyer Melancon, Kash Melancon, Layla Legnon, Hayes Melancon, Tony Landry, Max Landry, Teddy Landry, Quinn Welsh, Ray Coronado, and Kenzie Ashford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Melancon; daughter, Jennifer Landry; grandson, Kerry James Romero, Jr.; and a brother, Whitney Boudreaux. Pallbearers will be Roy Melancon, Kerry Romero, Ramsey Albert, Ridge Albert, Justin Melancon, and Chadd Romero. Honorary pallbearers include Talon Romero, Davin Romero, Lucas Legnon, Kash Melancon, and Hayes Melancon.
