New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Evelyn Touchet Carlin, 90, who passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Iberia Medical Center.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
A native of Youngsville and a resident of New Iberia, Evelyn Touchet Carlin was born on April 24, 1930. She enjoyed gardening and watching WWE. She loved animals, and attracted all of the neighborhood strays; they knew they would be well fed! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Carlin is survived by a son, Terry Carlin of New Iberia; two grandchildren, Cassie Carlin (Jacques) Bourque of Lafayette, and Brett Carlin of Baton Rouge; great granddaughter, Quinn Bourque; and a great grandson on the way, Levi Bourque.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlin; mother, Adia Toups; father, Adam Touchet; stepfather, O.J. Maturin; daughter-in-law Karen Touchet Carlin, and five siblings.
