Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Evelyn Deranger Guilbeau, 91, who passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 3:00 pm and continue until 12:30 pm on Saturday. A rosary will be recited by Barbara Hebert at 7:00 pm on Friday. Fr. Keenon Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Alicia Hunter and Kaye Hulin. Gift Bearers will be Amy, Jackie, Marrietta, Melissa, Brandi, Mandy, Kim, Amelia, Nicky, and Lindsey. Musical selections will be performed by her grandson, Randy J. Hebert. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mrs. Guilbeau was a lifelong parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and decorating her home for the holidays, most especially Christmas, which was her favorite holiday of them all. She treasured the many times she could spend with her family - they were her life and her love for each and every one of them was unique and unconditional. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Charles (Patsy) Guilbeau of Arnaudville and Floyd (Joy) Guilbeau of Gonzales; five daughters, Viola (Willie) Stelly of Arnaudville, Mary Ann (Alvin) Hebert of Arnaudville, Joanne (Roland) Quebedeaux of Breaux Bridge, Linda (Donald) Bernard, and Brenda (Randell) Schexnayder, all of Arnaudville; one brother, Irvin (Myrtle) Deranger of Opelousas; four sisters, Fannie Morain of Addis, Betty (J.D.) Emon of Opelousas, Shirley Deshotel of Opelousas, and Leola Doucet of Grand Prairie; 25 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, She is preceded in death by her husband, John Doris "Joe" Guilbeau; two sons, Leroy Guilbeau Sr. and Leland Guilbeau; a great granddaughter, Kayla Stelly; her parents Moise Deranger Sr. and Marie Bergeron Deranger; five brothers, Theophile, Xavier, Joseph 'Blue', Percy, and Moise Deranger, Jr.; and three sisters, Bertha Guidroz, Velma Lanclos, and Virgie Stelly. Pallbearers will be her two sons, Charles and Floyd, and Phillip, Randy, Christopher, Benjamin, Jordan, and Eric. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy, Leroy, Jr., Bryant, Jason, and Jacob.
