Henderson - A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Henderson Bible Church in Henderson for Evelyn F. Hayes, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Henderson Bible Church, 1045 Talley St., Henderson, LA, from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until service time. Pastor Lenny Hayes will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Henderson Bible Cemetery in Henderson. Evelyn was a member of the Henderson Bible Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, keeping a very clean house, and providing good healthy food for her family on a daily basis. She is survived by her husband, Wilven Hayes of Henderson; four daughters, Linda Bergeron of Cecilia, Debra Hebert of Cecilia, Christie (Gerald) Long of Carencro, and Alice Hayes of Henderson; two sons, Wallace (Sheila) Hayes of Arnaudville and Donald (Dana) Hayes of Tyler, TX; many great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Rita LaBiche of New Iberia; two half-sisters, Sylvia Fruge of Orange, TX and Louella. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Odeal Guidry Fruge; an infant daughter, Peggy Hayes; son, Lester Bergeron; and a half sister, Mildred Leger.
