Lydia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, for Evelyn "Ms. Bill" Sandridge, 84, who died on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving and adoring family. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. ; Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the Celebrant. ; Born on January 18, 1924 to Clementine Landry and Alexson Babineaux in Vermilion Parish, she was a resident of Iberia Parish for most of her life. Attending school in Iberia Parish, she met and married William "Bill" Sandridge until his death in 1989. ; She is survived by her loving companion, Justin Larive, Jr. of Jeanerette; three children, Mary Sandridge Babineaux and husband Donald, Shirley Sandridge Viator and companion John Mercer, Russell Lee Sandridge and companion Vickie Dore, all of New Iberia; daughter-in-law, Kathy G. Sandridge and companion Jerry Walker of New Iberia; grandchildren, William Babineaux and wife Nanette, Andy Babineaux and wife Holly, Katherine McClure Burke and husband Michael, Russell Jude Sandridge and wife Michelle, Derrick Sandridge and companion Jeanne Breaux; great grandchildren, Coty Michael Romero, Mackenzi and Rylee Babineaux, Crystal and Kevin Varner, Melissa McClure and Ashlee Sandridge, Gabrielle and Brandt Sandridge; step granddaughter, Destyn Melancon; great great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Varner, and Richard Burke who they raised as their own. ; She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Sandridge; grandson, Gerald McClure; great granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Sandridge; ;brothers, Aurelie Babineaux, Alexie Babineaux, Gordy Babineaux, Sr., Charles "Dudley" Babineaux, Walton Babineaux, Andre Babineaux; sisters, Beulah B. Stelly, Agnes B. Comeaux, Lydia B. Landry, Nellie B. Delcambre, Daisy B. LeBlanc; numerous nieces and nephews. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 A.M. ; Pallbearers will be William Babineaux, Andy Babineaux, Russell Jude Sandridge, Derrick Sandridge, Coty Michael Romero, and Kevin Varner. ; Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Simon.
