New Iberia - Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Evola "Mom Shun" Comeaux , 82, who passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Coteau. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Rev. Barry Crochet will officiate. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. A native of Youngsville, "Mom Shun" was born on March 15, 1932 to Albert and Natalie Touchet Gary. She loved sewing, crocheting, dancing, and playing bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was God Mother to many. She is survived by her children, Nell Delahoussaye and husband Danna of Coteau, Neil J. Comeaux and wife Marlene of Youngsville, Robert J. Comeaux, Jr. and wife Anita, of Youngsville; grandchildren, Ned J. Comeaux, Jr., Nichole C. Reaux, Cory R. Delahoussaye, Natalie C. Trosclair, Jonathan Comeaux, Kandy D. Miller, Mandy D. Ronsonet, Katie C. Broussard, Jeremy Comeaux, Kathy Comeaux, Cassandra Comeaux, Stephanie Duhon, and Eric Duhon, 26 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild due in March; former husband and father of her children, Robert Comeaux, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ned Comeaux, Sr.; sisters, Paula LeBlanc, Mary Lou Gaspard, Elise "Mayon" Romero; brothers Sidney Gary, Paul Gary, Ellis Gary; a Great Great Granddaughter, Dakota Marrie Delahoussaye; and former husband, Herman Broussard. Pallbearers will be Robert Comeaux Jr., Cory Delahoussaye, Ned Comeaux Jr., Jonathan Comeaux, Jeremy Comeaux, Taylor Broussard, and Russell Gaspard. Honorary pallbearers include Justin Delahoussaye, Blake Romero, Teddy Miller, Zac Reaux, Neal Comeaux, and Danna Delahoussaye.
