Exilda Noel

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Exilda Marie Courville Noel, 81, who passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 pm until 10 pm. on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm Tuesday. Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Barbara Hebert. Gift Bearers will be Phyllis Robin, and Hayley and Sydney Pourciau. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery. Mrs. Noel enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers, as well as working on crossword puzzles. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends - she thought she was in heaven when she could be with them. Survivors include two sons, Vincent Noel of Arnaudville and Pierre (Marsha) Noel of Sand Springs, OK; five daughters, Phyllis Robin, Barbara (Herbert) Hebert, Adela Pourciau, all of Arnaudville, Joann (Edward) Bertinot of Baton Rouge, and Sheila Huval of Lafayette; three brothers, Leus Courville, Orelie Courville, Jr., and Alexson Courville; half-brother, Simeon Guilbeau; four sisters, Theresa LaGrange, Mary Bergeron, Agnes Savoie, and Adita Benton; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Noel; her parents, Orelie Courville, Sr. and Therese Guilbeau Courville; three sisters, Rena Vincent, Alida Richard, and Orelia Courville; a step-son, Joseph Charles Noel; and a step grandson, Kenneth Noel. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Robin, Neil Hebert, Joey Hebert, Vincent Noel, Murphy Joulivette, and Duane Huval. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Arnaud.
