New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Felix R. Landry, 98, who died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Lafayette .
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery .
Msgr. Richard Greene will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 8:30 AM until 11:00 AM atPellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM .
Born on January 20, 1914 , Mr. Landry was a native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing baseball, and then continued following the sport by watching LSU baseball, as well as LSU football, the New Orleans Saints, and boxing.
A very family oriented person, Mr. Landry loved sharing memories and stories with everyone. His most treasured times were with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Earl James Landry and wife Jean of New Iberia, Russell Landry and wife Kay of New Iberia, Daniel 'Rick' Landry and wife JoAnn of Leland, North Carolina ; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by wife, Enola Viator Landry; his parents, Clevince and Lea Fremin Landry; and a sister, Effie Landry Bourque.
Pallbearers will be Sean Landry, Craig Landry, Tommy Landry, Daniel Landry, Brent Landry, and Mike Thibodeaux.
Honorary pallbearers include Bart Landry, Wally Derouen, and Martin LeBlanc.
