Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 17, 2007, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Felton Geoffroy, 82, who died Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
Celebrant of the mass will be Rev. Barry Crochet.
Reader for the mass will be Claudia Geoffroy. Gift bearers include his granddaughters, Lindsay Segura, Lacie Geoffroy and Christy Geoffroy.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
Felton proudly served in the Army during World War II, in which he received the Purple Heart. He was a past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and served as trustee at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Fern Lopez Geoffroy of Coteau, his sons; Clyde Geoffroy and wife Elaine, Ward Geoffroy and wife Tracie, both of Houston; his daughters, Linda Wilder and husband Mike of Alexandria and Vickie Boatright and husband Glen of Coteau, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Leonie Comeaux Geoffroy; brothers, Lloyd, Whitness and Gordy Geoffroy; sisters, Delta Mae Derouen and Thelma Lite.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Colby Segura, Christopher Segura, Dusty Hunt, Sky Geoffroy, Brad Hunt and Troy Geoffroy.
Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Clyde and Ward Geoffroy & sons in law, Mike Wilder and Glen Boatright.
