Ferdinand Berard

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 5, 2006, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Parks for Ferdinand "Sterling" Berard, 65, who died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Berard loved zydeco music, cooking and having fun. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Berard; his parents, Sterling Narcisse and Antoinette Berard, all of St. Martinville; his sons, Allen Berard and his wife, Ethel and Ferdinand Berard, Jr. and his wife, Dianne, all of Breaux Bridge; his brothers, Donald Louis of St. Martinville, Ronald Louis of New Iberia, Lloyd Perrodin of St. Martinville; and Marshall and Paris Wiltz, who were raised like his brothers; his sisters, Veronica Narcisse of St. Martinville, Jacylin Louviere of Lafayette, Stella Boayue of Atlanta, GA, and Mildred Wiltz, who raised him like a brother; his grandchildren, Javontae Berard, Dontae Berard, Paris Jacquet, Althea Berard and Katie Ledet; and his great-grandchild, Alajah Berard. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Kidney. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am, Saturday, August 5, 2006 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Parks until time of service. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
