Fitzgerald Pharr

New Iberia - Memorial services will be at 2:30 PM , Monday, August 16, 2010 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia , for Fitzgerald 'Fitz' Pharr , 63, who passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 in Lafayette . Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Born on August 1, 1947 , Fitz was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . He worked as an oilfield consultant for many years and was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. Fitz enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Linda Marcotte Pharr of New Iberia; daughter, Lori Pharr Lewis and husband Tod of Slidell; sons, Fitzgerald 'Butch' Pharr, III of Sarasota, FL, Jonas Pharr of Benton; step sons, Richard Tassin, Chad Tassin, Jason Tassin and wife Allisa all of Marksville; brothers, Richard Pharr and wife Deborah of St. Martinville, Charles Pharr and wife Annette of New Iberia; sisters, Tina Pharr Cartimiglia and husband Dale of New Iberia, Martha Pharr Hatcher and husband Wallace of Lauderdale, MS; grandchildren, Quentin Pharr, Mallory Pharr, Jackson Pharr, Ava Tassin, and Bronson Tassin. He was preceded in death by his father, Fitzgerald 'Speck' Pharr , Sr.; mother, Lorraine Jessen Pharr; and a daughter, Paige Elizabeth Pharr.
