New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Florence Broussard Hargrave, 90, who passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Rev. Eugene Tremie will be the Celebrant, and Rev. Keith Landry will Concelebrate.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, and will continue on Monday from 11:00 am until 1:15 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Sunday.
A lifelong area resident, Florence Broussard Hargrave was born on August 25, 1928 to the late Lovelace and Levi Romero Broussard. She was a great cook, and loved to feed everybody. Anybody who went to her house will remember her famous root beer lemonade and iced tea. She enjoyed crocheting and praying the Rosary. Mrs. Hargrave was a nurturer, and dedicated her life to taking care of her family and others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Hargrave is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Dugas and husband Larry of New Iberia; son, Mark Hargrave and wife Debra of Youngsville; brothers, Harold Broussard of New Iberia, and Cleveland Broussard and wife Theresa of New Iberia; grandchildren, Allison Trahan and spouse Scott, Kelli Broussard and spouse David, Jr., Laura Hogan and spouse Michael, Adam Dugas and spouse Jehana; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Makenzie Trahan, Mindi Broussard, Aria, Luke and James Hogan; and Baylen Dugas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Joseph Hargrave; a daughter, Melinda Louviere; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Adam Dugas, Scott Trahan, David Broussard, Jr., and Michael Hogan.
