Florence Guidry Scrantz

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, August 22, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Florence "Flo" Guidry Scrantz, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Cecilia. Rev. Father Paul Broussard will officiate at the funeral Mass Mrs. Scrantz, along with her husband, Alfred, was the owner of Scrantz's Grocery Store in Grand Anse for 20 years. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Flo enjoyed playing bingo and going shopping and she loved the opportunity to get all dressed up on any special occasion. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Scrantz, of Cecilia; one son, Leonard Scrantz and his wife, Sherry, of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Lou Anna Angelle, of Cecilia; 4 grandchildren, Ronald Scrantz, Jr., Guy Scrantz, Brandy Ouebedeaux, and Courtney LeBlanc; 11 great grandchildren, Hailey, Abby, Madison, Krista, Karlee, River, and Gannon Scrantz, Ian, Cole, and Gabby Quebedeaux, and Marley LeBlanc; and 1 great-great grandchild, Breanna Scrantz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph O. and Laurrain Angelle Guidry; one son, Ronald Scrantz, Sr.; a brother, Leed Guidry; and one great grandchild, Kylie Scrantz. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ken Soignier at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Leonard Scrantz, Scott Quebedeaux, Corey LeBlanc, Ronald Scrantz, Jr., Guy Scrantz, and Ian Quebedeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Quebedeaux and River Scrantz. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
