Floyd Joseph Guidry

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. (TIME PENDING), on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Floyd Joseph Guidry, 71, who passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Chanh Nguyen will officiate at the funeral Mass. The readers will be Victoria Guidry and Gabrielle Guidry. Gift Bearers will be Mallory Stevens and Madison Guidry. Mr. Guidry was a sheet metal worker for many years and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #21 of Baton Rouge, LA. A devout Catholic, he was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia. He was an avid fan of all L.S.U. sports, and he also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family. Survivors include his wife, Elaine G. Guidry, of Cecilia; two sons, Randall Joseph Guidry and his wife, Lee Anna of Cecilia, and Ryan Joseph Guidry and his wife, Stacie, of Arnaudville; three daughters, Amanda Marie Guidry Landry, of Gulf Shores, AL, Marcia Ann Guidry Scrantz and her husband, Chris, of The Woodlands, TX, and Monica Ann Guidry Stevens and her husband, Bert, of Gulf Shores, AL; four brothers, Liney Guidry, Robley "Mac" Guidry, Harold Guidry, and Curnal "Tee" Guidry; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Guidry, Victoria Guidry, Dustin Landry, Dylan Landry, Peyton Landry, Gabrielle Guidry, Madison Guidry, Quintin Scrantz, Stefan Scrantz, and Mallroy Stevens.; 2 great grandchildren, Kave Guidry and Beckham Guidry; and his beloved pet, "Billie". He was preceded in death by his parents, Anlow and Amanda Duplechien Guidry; and a daughter, Lena Louise Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Randall Guidry, Ryan Guidry, Shannon Guidry, Dustin Landry, Dylan Landry, and Quintin Scrantz. Honorary pallbearers will be Peyton Landry and Stefan Scrantz. The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care they provided him during his illness.
