Floyd Larson

October 1, 1919 — September 15, 2006

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 18, 2006, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia for Floyd Davis Larson, 86, who died Friday, September 15, 2006 at a local hospital in New Iberia following a brief illness. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. Rev. Woodrow Gordon Larson will conduct the services, along with Pastor Johnny Ward conducting the final committal. Floyd was raised in Bayou Chene until his family moved to New Iberia. Some of his fondest memories were from his boyhood days at his beloved Bayou Chene. Floyd was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart medal for his honorable courage and service. He was a long standing member of the Masonic Lodge, Aurora #193 for over fifty years. More than anything, he cherished his wife of 58 years, Nettie; she was the love of his life. Floyd had a love for life and laughter. The sparkle of his life was his adored children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Floyd will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all the people that his life has touched. Survivors include his wife Nettie Gautreau Larson; daughters, Belinda Larson Armentor and her husband, Sanford Armentor, Chandra Larson Broussard and her husband, Renford Broussard, Donna Larson McDonald and her husband, Michael McDonald and Connie Larson Elrod and her husband, Gilford Elrod; sons, Fenris Davis Larson and his wife, Nancy Larson, David Wayne Larson and his wife, Katy Larson, all of New Iberia; brother and minister, Rev. Woodrow Gordon Larson; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric James Larson; his beloved parents, Lorena Stockstill and Henry Larson; three brothers and three sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, September 17, 2006 and continue at 9:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2006 until time of service. Prayer and Scriptural readings will be shared at 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2006. Pallbearers will be Fernis Davis Larson, David Wayne Larson, Sanford Joseph Armentor, Wesley David Broussard, Michael Warren McDonald, and Gilford Stewart Elrod. Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
