Floyd Joseph Theriot

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Floyd Joseph Theriot, 54, who passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. Fr. Pelous, pastor of St. Rita Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Floyd served as an AA sponsor, enjoyed photography and playing bridge. Mardi Gras photos were a highlight in his life. As a registered nurse he excelled in caring and exhibited compassion to everyone. He loved his family, friends of Catahoula, as well as his extended family in New Orleans. Floyd loved his pets, Spot and Betty, which were like his children. He will be greatly missed by all those who shared in his life's dreams and goals. Survivors include his parents, Pierre C. Theriot and Iva Mae Belaire Theriot of Catahoula; his life partner, Joseph Johnson of New Orleans; his sisters, Katherine "Katie" Theriot of Gretna, Marlene "Nan" Laviolette and her husband, Chris of Parks and Sue Ellen "Sue-Sue" Vincent and her husband, Ricky of Youngsville; nieces and nephews, Lacey McCarthy and her husband, Richard, Ross Noel and his wife, Shannon and their child, Trey, Todd Noel and his fianc, Gabby Blanchard, Haley Vincent and Hannah Vincent. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Placide Belaire and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvain Theriot. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 1:30 pm. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Ross Noel, Todd Noel, Chris Theriot, Dudley Theriot, Glenn Bonin and Dr. Jude Theriot. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
