VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Our beloved mother, Frances Heigle Southerland Currier, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at her residence in St. Martinville, Louisiana, she was 84. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge. Frances was a resident of Chalmette, LA for 35 years and was relocated to St. Martinville, LA after Hurricane Katrina. She was a die-hard Saints fan for 25 years and also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, fishing, as well as, dancing. Survivors include her two sons, Troy Southerland and his wife, Debra, of Duson, LA, and Danny Southerland and his wife, Brenda, of Covington, LA; two daughters, Leah Southerland Fletschinger, of St. Martinville, LA, and Brenda Schlosser Okronglis and her husband, Todd, of Meraux, LA; two brothers, Keith and Ernie Heigle, of New Orleans, LA; a sister-in-law, Ruby Heigle, of Slidell; her grandchildren, Sherri Lynn Roy, Brandi Ann Battistella, Troy Southerland, III, Chase Southerland, Chad Southerland, Stacey Melerine and her husband, Brandon, Jeffrey Southerland, Danny Southerland, Louis P. Rice, Jr., Vita A. Rice, Amy Rice, Danette Rice, Wayne Schlosser, Jr., and his wife, Nicole, Nicole Ferrier and her husband, Michael, and Jaime Harrison; great grandchildren, Britteni Roy, Codey Rody, D.J. Southerland, Mandi Roy, Halei Southerland, Gabbi Battistella, Madison Melerine, MacKenzie Melerine, Molly Melerine, Hannah Southerland, Chad Southerland, Bruce Chappell, Derick Chappell, Brett Chappell, Kerri Wetzel, Michael Paramore, Devan Paramore, Chaz Rice, Zachary Rice, Gabby Rice, Chelsey Schlosser, Sebastian Schlosser, Isabella Schlosser, Sophie Harrison, and her ex-son-in-law, Wayne Schlosser, Sr.; and a great-great grandchild, Aubree Rae Wetzel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eva Fernandez Heigle; her husband, Salvador Currier; and a son-in-law, Robert J. Fletschinger. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday. Troy, Danny and Brenda wish to express a very special thank you to their sister, Leah, for the special care that she so graciously bestowed to our mother for 14 years.
