Frances Elaine "Nin" Thomassee

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Frances Elaine "Nin" Thomassee, 85, who passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Baylor, Brylie, and Brayden Dauphine, Phyllis Simon, and Millie Barousse. Gift bearers will be Tina Chauffe, Hollie M. Guidry, Trisha Hotard and Dana Duplechin. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Upon graduation from Cecilia High School in 1954, Frances attended St. Mary's Nursing School in Port Arthur, TX. She was employed by St. Mary's for 40 years as a registered nurse. Frances was a member of The Legion of Mary and various other organizations. Known by friends and family as "Nin," she enjoyed gardening, especially growing orchids and African violets. She loved traveling the world with friends and family, reading, sewing, embroidery, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. After retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Cecilia, LA where she enjoyed being with her family, especially helping with her triplet grand nieces, Baylor, Brylie and Brayden Dauphine. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her brothers, Frank "Brud" Thomassee, Jr. (Donna) and Bryant "Nunie" Thomassee; sisters, Jacqueline Thomassee Dauphine (Donald), Lynda Thomassee Guidry, Cheryl Thomassee Guidry (Curnal), Druscilla Thomassee Chauffe (Tom) and Lucette Thomassee Vincent (Oran); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Melba Hebert Thomassee, Sr.; step-mother, Lorna D. Thomassee; maternal grandparents, Marten and Volina Hebert; paternal grandparents, Willman and Louise Thomassee; brother, Russell "Bill" Thomassee and his wife, Gloria; niece, Leslie T. Lancon; brother-in-law, Harold J. Guidry; and her godchild, Elizabeth Guidry Huval. Pallbearers will be Frank "Brud" Thomassee Jr., Bryant "Nunie" Thomassee, Keith Guidry, Curnal Guidry, Thomas Chauffe, Terry Dauphine, Nicky Dauphine, and Shane Dauphine. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Dauphine and Harvey Thomassee. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
