Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 11, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Francis J. "Pim" Calais, 92, who passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mr. Calais was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Army. "Pim," as he was well known by his family and friends, was a salesman for Pellerin Life Insurance Company in Breaux Bridge for many years, having retired in the mid-'80's. He enjoyed doing artwork, including signs, lettering and advertising. His hobbies included playing the guitar, singing and dancing.
He is survived by one brother, Louis J. Calais, of Cecilia; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezine J. and Laura Hamilton Calais; five brothers, Wesley Calais, Percy Calais, Dean Calais, Paul C. "Callen" Calais, and Walter Calais; and three sisters, Genieve Calais, Hazel Calais, and Wilda Calais Hardy.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Charles Calais, Kenny Angelle, Gary Angelle, John Angelle, Dean Angelle and Randy Angelle.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
