Francis Elridge Ebow, Jr.

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Francis Elridge Ebow, Jr., 71, who passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. The Reverend Bryce Sibley, Pastor of St. Louis Chapel, will officiate at the funeral Mass and conduct the service. Mr. Ebow was a member of the Men of Distinction (M.O.D.) and the All Together Men's Club. He was a former member of the St. Benevolent Society and in 1969 he served as King of the Newcomer's Club. Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Polite Ebow, of Parks; four sons, Michael Ebow and wife, Donna, of Garland, TX, Elridge Ebow and wife, Gretchen, of St. Martinville, Keith Ebow of Van Nuys, CA, and Glenn Ebow and wife, Fides, of Northridge, CA; three daughters, Suzette Woods and husband, Terrance, of Grand Prairie, TX, Charlene Hill and husband, Reginald, Sr., of St. Martinville, and Debbie Listenbee and husband, Joseph, Sr., of Grand Prairie, TX; three sisters, Norma Jean Abraham, of Jennings, Zelmae Coleman, of Omaha, NE, and Gerredette Ebow, of Parks; 18 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Ebow, Sr. and Melba Thibodeaux Ebow; his brother, Carl Joseph Ebow; a granddaughter, Shayla Ebow; a grandson, Elridge "Poopsie" Ebow, Jr.; and a great granddaughter, Julia Garza. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at St. Louis Chapel in Parks on Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Frederick Abraham, Keenan Ebow, Terren Pettigrew, Floyd Fontenette, Jr., Theodore "Ted" Skipper, and Giraud Polite. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Vavasseur, Sr., Burnell Hill, Sr., Charles Lindon, John Adam Polite, Reginald Hill, Sr., Joseph Listenbee, Sr., and Terrance Woods. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
