Francis "Frank" Firmin, Sr.

New Iberia – A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Francis “Frank” Firmin, Jr., 75, who passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in New Iberia, as a result of an auto pedestrian accident.

 Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Iberia Honor Guard. 

Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 until 9:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. 

Mr. Firmin, a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, was born on August 31, 1948, to the late Hollis John Firmin and Blanche Simoneaux Firmin. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines, during the Vietnam War. “Frank” was a truck driver and worked as a welder and mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, making everyone laugh, but most of all he cherished spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gwenlyn Dugas Firmin; children, Paul Firmin (Christina), Denise Aucoin (fiancé Butch), Andy Firmin (Alison), Amy Firmin (fiancé Jason), and Destinee Romero (fiancé Nick); siblings, Hollis Firmin, Jr. (Joyce), Jude Firmin (Sherry), Wanita Arceneaux (E.J.), Joan Judice (Darren), and Emmogene Harrington (Clifford); 17 grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gale Dore.

 Pallbearers will be Paul Firmin, Andy Firmin, Jason Olivier, Kolbie Touchet, Mica Olivier, and Wade Jeanminette. 

Honorary pallbearers include Hollis Firmin, Jr., Jude Firmin, Kenneth “Cracker” LeBlanc, and Kevin Verret.
