St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, in St. Martinville for Francis ""Bullin"" Joseph Laperouse, Sr., 78, who died on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Fr. Austin Leger , pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church, will conduct the services.
Mr. Laperouse was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion of St. Martinville. ?He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Rita Broussard Laperouse, of St. Martinville; one son, Francis ""Joey"" Laperouse, Jr., of Alexandria; four daughters, Francine L. Champagne, and her husband, Nolan ""Boo"" Champagne, Melanie L. Capritto and her husband, Michael Capritto, Jr., all of St. Martinville, Adele L. Caillouet and her husband, Sam, of Plano, TX, and Joy Rita Laperouse, of St. Martinville; three brothers, James Laperouse of New Iberia, Expadie Laperouse, Jr., of Lafayette, and Kenneth Laperouse, Sr., of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Rita Fuselier, of St. Martinville, Vernice Derouen, Mildred Reed, both of New Iberia, and Marie Hebert, of St. Martinville; six grandchildren, Wendy Fuselier, Kristy Poche', Katie Capritto, Laurie Capritto, Lauren Caillouet, and Logan Caillouet; and three great grandchildren, Drew Huval, Abby Poche', and Cole Fuselier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Expadie Laperouse, Sr. and Adele Boudreaux Laperouse; two brothers, Tony and Louis Laperouse; and one sister, Madeline Chimento.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
Pallbearers will be Nolan ""Boo"" Champagne, Michael Capritto, Jr., Sam Caillouet, Logan Caillouet, Kenneth Laperouse, Jr., and Francis ""Joey"" Laperouse, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, James Laperouse, Expadie Laperouse, Jr., and Kenneth Laperouse, Sr.
