Francis Jr. Wiltz

Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Francis Wiltz, Jr., 89, who passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at his residence in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Lafayette. Mr. Wiltz was a member of the N.R.A., A.A.R.P., and the N.A.A.C.P. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Mae Guidry Wiltz, of Lafayette; one son, Paul D. Wiltz, Sr. and his wife, Cynthia, of Lafayette; one daughter, Betty L. Wiltz, of Lafayette; one brother, Joseph Wiltz and his wife, Mary Ann, of St. Martinville; three sisters, Eva Webster and Emily Hopkins, of Houston, TX, and Modeste Phillips, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Angela P. Benoit, Sonia L. Smith, Paul D. Wiltz, Jr., Brittany Alfred, and Erika Alfred; and twelve great grandchildren, Vanity Williams, Paige Williams, Sidney Smith, III, Trinity Smith, Colyn Wiltz, Cole Wiltz, Landon Wiltz, Liam Wiltz, Cameron Alfred, Sidney Alfred, Kaela Alfred, and Ryan Alfred. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Elaine Wiltz; his parents, Francis Wiltz Sr. and Marie Matthew Wiltz; five brothers, Albert, Clarence, Lawrence, Willis, and Antoine Wiltz; and a sister, Josephine Davis. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
