New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2010 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Fred J. Broussard, Jr., 56 who died Friday, May 21, 2010 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Msgr. Richard Greene will be the Celebrant. Born on May 24, 1953, in New Iberia, Fred was a dedicated and loyal employee of Service Tools, for over 38 years. He truly loved his work and was an avid reader. Fred also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Kim Fontenot Broussard of New Iberia; mother, Helen Dronet Broussard Marin of New Iberia; son, Lucas Broussard of New Iberia; daughter, Allison Broussard of New Iberia; brother, David 'Fuzzy' Broussard and wife Carol of Baton Rouge; sisters, JoAnn Ligi and husband Joe of Brownsboro, Texas, Aminthe Broussard and husband Patrick of Baton Rouge, Lena Lahasky and husband Andrew of Spring, Texas, Lydia Hoffman and husband Richard of Alexandria, Virginia; mother-in-law, Pruda Guillory Fontenot of New Iberia; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Broussard; his step father who adopted him, Rufus L. 'Pop' Marin, Jr.; brother, Russell Broussard. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
