St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Fred P. Laviolette, 61, who passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Roland J. Robicheaux and Jody Laviolette. Gift bearers will be Jace Laviolette and Jacie Laviolette.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
A resident of New Iberia, and a longtime former resident of St. Martinville, Fred Paul Laviolette was born on August 9, 1956 to the late Fred Laviolette and Molly Patin Pellegran. He was a residential painter and as a pastime, had a passion for hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his brothers, Johnny James Laviolette and wife Jody, and Jimmy David Laviolette and wife Elena; his uncles, Carol Patin and wife Janet, and Edward Laviolette and wife Betty; his aunts, Lucille Patin Russo and husband Wayne, and Velma Patin Carline; and his close friends, Laurette Pitman and husband Lewis, and Andy Reaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Molly Rita Pellegran Laviolette.
Pallbearers will be Johnny James Laviolette, Jimmy David Laviolette, Andy Reaux, Gene Hebert, Lewis Pitman and Roland J. Robichaux,
Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Patin and Edward Laviolette.
The family would like to give special thanks for the friendship and care given to Fred by Gene and Denise Hebert, R.J. and Nancy Robicheaux, Lewis and Laurette Pitman, Andy Reaux, Connie Smith, Linda Penn, Michelle and Pat Ainsley and Hospice of Acadiana.
