St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2007, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Gabriel Latiolais, Jr., 70, who died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the funeral mass, concelebrant will be Fr. Ed Degeyter. ?The readers will be Hannah Bernard and Maddie Robicheaux. ?Gift bearers will be Ben and Jean Potier. Mr. Latiolais served in the Army National Guard. He was a salesman with 3-D Chemical and served on the Board of Directors of the St. Martinville Sugar Coop. ?He was a member of the St. Martinville Lions Club, the Cattleman's Association and a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and was known for being a great cook. ?He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Jane C. Latiolais of St. Martinville; three daughters, Jeanise Bernard and her husband, Steve, of Breaux Bridge, Meranda Dautreuil of St. Martinville, and Tricia Latiolais of New Iberia; two sisters, Inez Barras of Lafayette and Rose Guidry of Denton, TX; and seven grandchildren, Matt Robicheaux, Maddie Robicheaux, Phillip Bernard, Hannah Bernard, Broc Latiolais, Elliott Bernard, and Sarah Dautreuil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel Latiolais, Sr. and Josephine Boudreaux Latiolais; three brothers, Murphy, Louis, and John Latiolais; two sisters, Agatha Frederick and Lou Anna Potier; his granddaughter, Morgan Robicheaux; and his son in law, Gaston ""Guy"" Dautreuil, III. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Francis Latiolais, Fred Latiolais, Steve Bernard, Louis Durand, Matt Robicheaux, and Dan Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Bernard, Elliott Bernard, Broc Latiolais, Brian Latiolais, and Shane Guilbeaux. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
